Michael focuses on creating images that subtly combine classic posing with a natural response. Michael spent two years training with one of the country's leading wedding and portrait photographers, Monte Zucker. Monte’s influence enhanced Michael's ability to bring inner beauty to the surface of his images. Michael received the prestigious Hasselblad Master Award in 1999.
During a recent television interview at Michigan State University’s Kellogg Center, a reporter asked Michael, "Why do you make photographs?" Michael simply replied, "Why not?"
